The Duchess of Sussex has some 'very serious book deals on the table' after being approached by 'numerous publishing houses', sources have revealed. Meghan Markle, 39, is currently living in her $14 million Santa Barbara mansion with Prince Harry, 36, and their eighteen-month-old son Archie, having stepped back from royal duty last year. According to Vanity Fair's Katie Nicholl, the Duchess is considering writing a book and has been approached with 'lucrative offers from respectable publishing houses.' Since stepping down as a senior member of the royal family alongside the Duke, the Duchess has secured lucrative deals including a contract with Spotify worth up to £30million and a partnership with Netflix believed to be worth £100million. A source explained: 'Meghan has some very serious book deals on the table. They are all up for consideration.' It comes after Katie told 9Honey Meghan and Prince Harry are 'emulating the Obamas' successful business model with their plans for the future. Since leaving the White House in 2016, Barack and Michelle Obama revealed a similar business route - with the couple announcing a Netflix deal with their company Higher Ground Productions and soon after, a Spotify podcast. 'The Obamas' Higher Ground [production company] was always going to be the business model for the Sussexes and that's exactly what we're seeing,' said Ms Nicholl. President Barack launched his memoir A Promised Land in November, while his wife Michelle released her biography Becoming in 2018. Katie explained: ‘They are just emulating in each step of what they're doing and that is because the Obamas' model has worked. It sits very much with the image that the Sussexes are trying to curate for themselves.' She said it’s likely Meghan will move in to creating self-help books soon, which the mother-of-one’s a fan of. However, Katie said Prince Harry and Meghan are unlikely to reveal anything about their time in the Firm after stepping back from their royal duties and moving to the US with their son Archie. ‘It's important to remember they are still bound by that pledge to the royal family, to uphold the values of the monarchy, to remain respectful of the monarchy whether or not they are working members of the institution,' the royal author said. The Obamas and the Sussexes have known each other for many years and Ms Nicholl suggests it’s likely there’s been ‘some mentoring and possible guidance along the way’. The two couples even share the same American agency for their speaking engagements, The Harry Walker Agency. The Duke and Duchess have already signed various lucrative deals after stepping back from life as senior royals, including a partnership with Spotify worth up to £30 million. The couple will produce and host their own shows as part of the newly formed Archewell Audio - starting with a 'holiday special' that the pail hopes will 'uplift audiences around the world'. Spotify has not revealed what the contract is worth, but the streaming service agreed a £75m ($100m) deal with US comedian Joe Rogan in May. The Sussexes' agreement comes just months after the royals agreed a £100million partnership with Netflix and days after Meghan invested in a $28-per-pack oat-milk 'superlatte' business later promoted for free by her LA neighbour Oprah Winfrey. News of a potential book deal for Meghan comes after her half-sister Samantha finally released her tell-all book about their relationship and the rift that has torn apart the Markle family, promising readers that the 'truth is stranger than fiction'. Samantha's autobiography, titled 'The Diary of Princess Pushy's Sister: A Memoir, Part One', is expected to heavily criticise Meghan for shunning her American relatives and what she sees as cutting off their father Thomas after he was unable to attend the royal wedding following a heart attack. It lays bare details of the Markle siblings' upbringing, including the rivalry between Meghan and Samantha when their father was still married to the actress's mother Doria Ragland. But Samantha also writes of her adoration for her younger half-sister as a baby and described the infant as 'bi-racial, beautiful, and was both the color of a peach, and a rose'. She branded Prince Harry's comment in an interview that the royals were the 'family that Meghan never had' as the 'ultimate insult'.   Source: Mail Online
